Don’t let the Coronavirus scare, impeachment fight, and other headlines distract you. As President Trump put it this past Tuesday – the state of our Union is stronger than ever before. By many accounts he’s right – and the truth is in the data.
Here’s a sample of recent polls done by Gallup for a quick pulse check:
GALLUP: “Americans’ confidence in the U.S. economy is higher than at any point in about two decades. The latest figure from Gallup’s Economic Confidence Index is +40, the highest reading recorded since +44 in October 2000.” Read more here.
GALLUP: “Americans’ views on their personal financial situation have been climbing since 2018 and are now at or near record highs in Gallup’s trends. Nearly six in 10 Americans (59%) now say they are better off financially than they were a year ago, up from 50% last year.” Read more here.
GALLUP: “Nine in 10 Americans are satisfied with the way things are going in their personal life, a new high in Gallup’s four-decade trend. The latest figure bests the previous high of 88% recorded in 2003.” Read more here.
While this isn’t a comprehensive review, it seems entirely in-line with the President’s proclamation at his recent address before Congress. Playing no small part in this is are innovative US Companies leading a record breaking stock market, all-time lows in unemployment, rising wages, low inflation, an accommodative Federal Reserve, and on and on. Indeed, the state of our Union is strong.
